GAVIN IS INN IT TO WIN IT

-

THE improving Innamorare can land the featured Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Handicap at Gowran Park this afternoon.

The Gavin Cromwell, above, trained threeyear-old comes here chasing a hat-trick following victories at Cork and at Leopardstown on Saturday.

On both occasions she has had just a neck to spare at the finish but there is a good chance there is more to come from this filly.

On Saturday she finished out well over a mile at Leopardstown so the step up to an extended nine furlongs this afternoon should work in her favour.

Innamorare will be ridden by promising jockey Ben Coen who will be looking to claw back some ground in the apprentice rider’s championship.

Coen trails Shane Crosse by two winners and that rival also has prospects of notching up another success courtesy of Joseph O’brien’s Tuamhain.

The card begins with some interesting two-year-old maidens and in the first the Ger Lyons, inset, trained Singer makes most appeal.

She got her career off to a bright start at the Curragh in late August when she finished third behind Trethias and Pink Dogwood.

Both of those fillies have since shown up well in good company which would suggest that a maiden success is well within reach for this daughter of Oasis Dream.

Aidan O’brien should pick up the colts maiden with Empire State which can see off Self Rule who showed up nicely at Limerick recently. In the other two-year-old maiden a hopeful vote goes to the Dermot Weld newcomer Tankerville.

Elsewhere, Aidan O’brien is responsible for eight of the 19 remaining entries in the Vertem Futurity at Doncaster on Saturday.

The Ballydoyle trainer’s team is headed by Japan.
