Wind and rain as hurricane breezes past

-

MET Eireann said the remnants of Hurricane Oscar will bring “widespread rain” and “blustery winds” this weekend.

However, we’re likely to escape the brunt of the storm as at present it looks set to move north.

Forecaster Liz Walsh said: “The National Hurricane Centre continues to issue advisories for Hurricane Oscar in the western subtropical Atlantic.

“The system is expected to become a post-tropical storm on Wednesday night as it continues to track north-northeastwards.”

But it’s good news for trick-or-treaters tonight as it will be cold but dry.
