Ex-pat Trish loses home in Spanish flash floods

AN Irishwoman has lost everything after her house was ruined in floods which devastated southern Spain.

Retired Trish Mcgough, 60, was left with just the clothes on her back after the deluge on October 21.

The Dubliner, who has lived in Ronda for 14 years, told Olive Press: “It’s terrible, I’ve lost everything.

It’s a complete disaster.

“I can’t ever imagine it being habitable again. I can’t salvage a thing. It’s not my home anymore. I heard the wall collapse, there was a huge bang and then I saw a big brown ton of mud coming into the garden.

“We kept wishing the rain would stop but it never did.

“When it was around one metre from the front door we had to run.”

RUINED Trish Mcgough proximity to the river, Trish has been refused insurance cover.

She’s currently waiting for help from the town hall, who so far have only sent a skip.

However, she is struggling with the clean-up after slipping during the floods and spraining her wrist.
