Armed thug launches cash raid on store

AN armed raider has made off with a sum of cash after he held up a store.

The robber, who was reportedly carrying a handgun, threatened staff at the Centra on Knappagh Road, Co Sligo, on Monday night.

Nobody was injured and the raider fled the premises on foot.

A Garda spokesman told the Irish Mirror: “Detectives are investigating a robbery at a shop on Knappagh Road at 7.50pm on October 29.

“A man armed with what appeared to be a handgun threatened staff and stole cash. No one was injured in the incident.”
