Father & son effort for the Neeson boys in new movie

- BY KATIE GALLAGHER

Liam & Micheal LIAM Neeson is joining up with his actor son Micheal Richardson in a new comedy.

It’s going to be a family affair for the Hollywood star in Made In Italy.

The Co Antrim man will pay a Bohemian London artist in the comedy, which is about Neeson’s character’s return to Italy with his estranged son, played by Richardson, to sell a house left by his late wife.

The comedy will mark the directorial debut of Dunkirk actor James D’arcy, who also wrote the script.

Production is due to start in April next year and Bill Nighy and Jack Lowden were originally thought to play the roles.

Hanway Films boss Gabrielle Stewart, who is managing worldwide sales of the film, said: “It has been exciting to see this popular screenplay and project really mature and take shape this year.

“And with Liam and Micheal playing a father and son facing challenges both emotional and comedic in Tuscany, we are in for a very special treat.”

The movie was developed by London-based Crossday Productions, and is produced by film and TV veteran Pippa Cross and Sam Tipperhale, with Nicola Serra co-producing for Italian production entity Palomar.
