STEVIE-G: GER GOING TO GET THE CHOP

- BY CRAIG SWAN

Rangers Kilmarnock Tonight, 7.45pm

v STEVEN GERRARD last night admitted he’s in a cut-throat situation and will get chopped himself if Rangers throw in many more howlers like Hampden.

The Ibrox boss (right) gave a frank assessment of his situation as he prepared his team for tonight’s crunch against Kilmarnock.

Gerrard handed a crystalclear warning to his troops after their Betfred Cup flop against Aberdeen.

He said: “The business I am in, it is cut throat, it is brutal.

“If we keep suffering setbacks and results like that moving forward, I am not going to be here. You have to be blunt. It is cut throat, that is the way it is.

“Don’t sign up for it and don’t come here if you are not prepared to cope with that responsibility and pressure. You shouldn’t be here.”

Gerrard’s side need to get back to winning ways against Killie and the boss will bring back Alfredo Morelos and Kyle Lafferty. The strike-pair were absent as the side struggled for cutting-edge and Scott Arfield may start to add creativity with Ovie Ejaria struggling to overcome an ankle injury.

Gerrard said: “When you bring Laffery and Morelos back, that’s the first move.

“I had confidence Umar Sadiq would get that moment, that chance. Unfortunately, he fluffed his lines.”
