One Mour time for Madrid..
JOSE MOURINHO is being targeted by Florentino Perez for a Real Madrid reunion.
That’s the view of the Spanish giants’ former president Ramon Calderon.
Madrid are in turmoil after sacking Julen Lopetegui on Monday with the club’s players against the recruitment of former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte.
Conte in turn is understood to be unwilling to take the job unless he has full backing from Bernabeu chief Perez and a say in potential signings.
Calderon believes Manchester United boss Mourinho, however, is the man Perez wants as Lopetegui’s long-term replacement.
He said: “Mourinho is the only coach Perez has respected up to now. He gave him all the power for the first time in his life, which was very unusual.
“It’s true he’s been in touch with Jose in the last few years trying to bring him here again, but being with Man United I think now it’s not possible.
“If he leaves United, I’m sure he’ll be here again. I’m sure the president is thinking of Mourinho.
“He is always the coach he’d like to have at Real.”
