Jobless rate falls by 3,400 in last month

-

JOBLESS rates fell last month as the number of people seeking work in the UK continues to decline.

The unemployment level dropped by 3,400 between September and October, and is down 29,400 compared with 12 months ago.

Indeed economist Pawel Adrjan said: “The rate continues to fall and may drop below 5% next year, according to Central Bank forecasts.

“Competition for staff is intensifying, particularly in sectors like technology, finance and construction.

“Our data shows overall Irish jobseeker interest in overseas opportunities has fallen as well.”
