Allen: I must be better

- BY NEIL GOULDING

SNOOKER MARK ALLEN believes he needs to up his game to lift the International Championship trophy this week.

Northern Ireland’s top potter cruised into his fifth quarter-final at the event by crushing Englishman Alfie Burden 6-1 yesterday.

The Masters champion (above) said: “It was a fast start in the first frame with a century but other than that I made a few mistakes.

“I made more mistakes than I have all week. The score was very flattering, I had some chances and didn’t take them so I’ll have to cut that out.

“I want to be remembered for winning more ranking titles, I’m my own worst critic so I know better than most that I should have won more than my three.”
