Alisson: It is going to get better

- BY CHRIS MCKENNA

LIVERPOOL keeper Alisson has warned the Premier League that the Reds are only going to get better.

But the Brazilian insists that, despite a fine start to the season, Jurgen Klopp’s side are keeping their feet firmly on the ground.

The Reds are unbeaten in the league with only goal difference separating them and leaders Manchester City. They are also in the driving seat in their Champions League group.

Summer signing Alisson said: “It’s a really important season for us. There are already high expectations on us given our quality.

“We have demonstrated this with only one defeat in the Champions League and we are unbeaten in the Premier League having achieved some important results. So I definitely believe that we’re on the right track but it’s too early to get excited. We have to keep our feet on the ground. We know it’s going to be really difficult this season given the quality of the other teams and we know how difficult it is to win this league.

“We have to fight, taking it game by game and step by step.”

But in a warning to rivals, the £65million capture from Roma says the best is yet to come from the Reds, especially now that fab front three Mo Salah, Sadio Mane, and Roberto Firmino are finally rediscovering their form.

Alisson added: “We know we can improve on the pitch. That’s a positive thing, taking into account the campaign we’ve had up until now. There is still room for growth, both technically and tactically. It’s a positive thing for us and a positive thing we can work towards.”
