One number away from €79m jackpot

-

A PUNTER who scooped €233,000 in the Euro Millions was painfully close to claiming the monster jackpot.

The Dublin man picked the number two as one of his lucky stars, when one would’ve netted him €78.5million.

The player, who bought his ticket at the Supervalu in Palmerstown Shopping Centre, said: “I normally pick set numbers and I was in a massive rush.

“I should have bought a Quick Pick but instead I just ticked off numbers in less than five seconds without giving it a second thought. I thought there’s no chance these will come out.”
