Just give us a break over TD holidays
OUR elected representatives often wonder why the public have so little respect for politicians and politics in general.
Apart from many being liars and freeloaders, their tendency to do as little work as possible doesn’t endear them to voters across the country.
The Dail is hardly back five weeks after an 11-week summer vacation when they are off again for another week for no good reason other than to give TDS another holiday.
With the housing and homelessness crisis worsening and Brexit negotiations at a crucial stage, it’s hard to have respect for politicians who opt to take another break instead of going to work.
