Fan as Jimmy Savile CELEBRATING local heroes is one thing but it’s a bit much if he’s a notorious pervert who abused hundreds of children.
Leeds United fans had a bit of a reputation back in the day and they’re likely to renew it after one of their number dressed as paedophile presenter Jimmy Savile at an away match.
If that wasn’t bad enough hundreds of other supporters began singing: “He’s one of our own, he’s one of our own, Jimmy Savile, he’s one of our own”.
While Leeds United might be only a shadow of its former self, the city has beat off competition from Birmingham and Manchester to be home of the new Channel 4 headquarters.
Just hope another local hero like Savile doesn’t end up presenting shows.
