On cloud nine after €1.4m US contract

Damien Mccann and Glenn Chegwidden IRISH cloud and connectivi­ty company Viatel has unveiled a deal with the world’s largest manufactur­er of memory products Kingston Technology.

The deal will see the US multinatio­nal take substantia­l managed data centre space and connectivi­ty in the Blanchards­town facility.

It will also house Kingston’s EMEA cloud computing, data storage and other mission critical digital assets for the next five years with a contract worth more than €1.4million.

Viatel director of sales and marketing Damien Mccann stated “We are delighted to welcome Kingston Technology to the growing number of clients choosing Viatel for critical cloud and data centre applicatio­ns.”

Kingston was founded in 1987 and employs more than 3,000 staff globally with its EMEA HQ located in Dublin.
