‘FOXES WILL PLAY THROUGH THE PAIN’

-

CLAUDE PUEL says Leicester will play tomorrow to forget the painful loss of their chairman.

The 2016 Premier League champions are in mourning after the death of owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha in last Saturday’s helicopter crash.

But after Tuesday’s League Cup game was called off, the players want to play tomorrow’s Premier League fixture against Cardiff.

And boss Puel said: “When you lay football, normally your focus and concentration is just on the pitch and what you have to do.

“I hope we can have this feeling during the game. Before and after, we cannot forget.

“I hope we can find a good balance between conviction and emotion in this game. If we remain just on emotion, it will be difficult.

“But I am confident when I saw my players in training, they can give their best for a few minutes.”

Puel insists the result at Cardiff no longer matters, but the manner in which they play for their former chairman (right) certainly does.
