I really felt for the young man who wants to leave his girlfriend (Dear Coleen, Oct 31) after staying to bring up their son who was born when they were just teenagers.

I don’t think there’s any shame in walking away if it’s not working.

They’ve both tried their best and given their son a good and stable start in life, even though they were both young when he came along.

Your reader sounds like a mature and caring person.
