DNA is science working for us

-

MAJOR developments in DNA technology has helped several Irish families find their missing loved ones.

These advances led to the identification of Margaret Glennon and James Gallagher.

The same process allowed experts to show bone fragments found 17 years ago belonged to missing Limerick man Aengus Shanahan.

Not alone will this new form of DNA profiling identify human remains it will help detectives solve crimes.

If this technology can bring closure to tortured families and criminals to justice, it can only be a good thing.
