I’m looking to have one wall in my kitchen covered in small split tiles. It’s a concrete wall with plasterboa­rd on it. Will it hold proper tiles or should I opt for 3D wallpaper? Mary Anne Hill, Blackwood, Gwent A

Plasterboa­rd will hold wall tiles.

They would have to be very heavy for the plasterboa­rd to fail. I would go ahead with using split tiles.

Try Peelaway Paint Remover. I have used it loads of times. Or you could hire a textured surface remover which uses abrasive pads to help remove the paint.
