MY HART’S IN RIGHT PLACE

Dyche: He’s finally settled after loan upheaval

- BY MIKE WHALLEY

JOE HART has finally found himself in a “good place” at Burnley after a tough two years, said Sean Dyche.

Hart is set to return to West Ham today for the first time since a tricky year’s loan at the London Stadium last season.

It ended with him missing out on a place in England’s World Cup squad.

The goalkeeper, 31, has made no secret of how tough he found it during year-long stints with Torino and the Hammers after being told by Pep Guardiola that he had no future at Manchester City.

He admitted that “never felt settled” at

West Ham, where he played only 19 league games after he was dropped in favour of Adrian by new boss

David Moyes.

But Hart has established himself as No.1 again after joining Burnley for £3.5million in August.

Clarets boss Dyche he (below) said: “He looks in a good place. I think he’s enjoying the challenge here because he knows it’s a challenge.

“I think he knows there’s a group who will work in front of him, a group who will give everything. And there is an honesty to the people who are working in front of him.

“I’m not saying he didn’t have that anywhere else. I’m just saying here, I think he has got that and I think he’s shown from his performances he is willing to work with that.”

Dyche has a habit of revitalising players’ careers, having done so with Joey Barton and Aaron Lennon.

“He’s not the first player who this environment has allowed to shine a little bit,” the Burnley boss said.

Dyche said that Hart’s honesty made it an easy decision to sign him.

The manager said: “It was one of the most refreshingly simple, clean conversations. He and his agent were a pleasure to deal with.”
