GOALS COME OFF PAT NOW

- ALEX BYWATER

CALLUM PATERSON is the self-styled “Jack of all trades” charged with keeping Cardiff in the Premier League.

But the makeshift Scottish striker admits it will be difficult to focus on his team’s relegation battle when the Bluebirds take on Leicester in today’s emotional encounter.

Cardiff ace Paterson (above) said: “It’s going to be a difficult afternoon. It’s a sensitive subject with what’s happened at Leicester.

“It’s amazing and a privilege for me to be involved in big Premier League games.

“But it won’t be very nice to play in this match given the circumstances.” The former Hearts man joined Cardiff as an injured defender in June 2017.

But after helping Neil Warnock’s men to promotion in May, Paterson has been pushed further and further forward and is now his team’s leading front man.

He has scored in their last two matches and said: “I’m the Jack of all trades and master of none!

“I never thought I’d be a Premier League striker.

“The opportunity to play in the Premier League is massive but to be leading the line in some of these big games has been huge.”
