SAM: LET’S PLAY AGAIN FOR CLEM

-

Championship: Madejski Stadium, 3pm SAM BALDOCK has told his Reading team-mates it is up to them to save manager Paul Clement from the axe.

Ex-swansea boss Clement will be pushed closer to the sack if Reading lose at home to Bristol City today.

But former Brighton striker Baldock (above) said: “We like him – we think he’s a great guy and a good manager.

“We’re learning a lot. He said at the beginning of the season it’s not going to be an overnight fix, it’s more of a work in motion. The nature of the business means there is going to be pressure but we are enjoying learning under him. And we believe we can progress.

“He can’t step over that white line so it’s down to us on the pitch. We owe him a few more performances than what we’ve been putting in.”

Clement has come under pressure after winning just three of his 15 Championship matches with Reading, who are rooted in the bottom three.
