Woman held after man is mutilated in house attack
Woman arrested over horrific discovery in house
GARDAI have arrested a woman after a man was murdered and his genitals cut off in a horrific late-night stabbing.
The victim, named locally as Limbani Mzoma but who also used the name Robert, is understood to be from Malawi but may have links to Ghana.
He was found dead in a pool of blood inside a house in the Tudor Lawns estate in Foxrock, South Dublin.
Sources have confirmed he was stabbed repeatedly in a frenzied attack and his genitals “removed from the body” and placed on top of the fireplace.
The victim is also understood to have had his eyelids cut off.
One source said: “The scene is in a house where a number of nonnationals have been living.
“There has been a lot of trouble at the property recently and gardai were called on Thursday afternoon.
“They dealt with a public order incident and left. When they were called back at 11.30pm they discovered the dead man.
“The injuries were horrific, his genitals have been severed and there are signs he was stabbed around the body.”
Gardai arrested an African woman in her 40s. It is believed she was in the house when they arrived.
Two African men were also questioned, but only one person was detained and she was being held in Dun Laoighaire Garda station.
The area where the killing happened is an estate of expensive mock Tudor houses near Leapordstown Racecourse. There is a large, well-kept green area and a private parking attendant.
Senior gardai including Assistant Commissioner Pat Leahy and Deputy State Pathologist Dr Linda Mulligan attended the scene.
Local residents were in shock and too afraid to give their names when they spoke to the Irish Mirror.
One elderly woman claimed there had been trouble at the house recently.
She said: “There have been a lot of problems there recently – a woman was injured there before in a fight.
“I heard the commotion yesterday [Thursday] afternoon and then last night again. There was a lot of gardai and some ambulances there.
“There has been a lot of people coming and going from there and it has been a big worry.
“It is shocking and tragic that someone has lost their life.”
Gardai confirmed the arrest and appealed for witnesses.
A spokesman said: “A woman [40s] has been arrested in relation to this investigation and is currently detained at Dun Laoghaire under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.”
