GAA ace Tom: Engineers are good sports
SPORTS skills are key to building a successful career in engineering, it has been claimed.
GAA star and civil engineer Tom Parsons said: “All those attributes critical in sport – resilience, effective communications, flexibility, time-management and passion – are equally vital to becoming an effective and dynamic engineer.
“Like athletes, they have unique abilities to push boundaries and overcome great challenges.”
Engineers Ireland director Caroline Spillane added: “A ready supply of talent is fundamental to realising the ambitions of Project Ireland 2040.”
