Exercise is good for your mental health.

A survey of more than one million adults in the US found that people who said they took exercise experience­d fewer days of poor mental health.

All forms of exercise were associated with better mental health, but some were more closely linked than others.

Team sports and cycling, for example, seemed more effective than running or jogging.

What the survey couldn’t show was if taking exercise improves mental health or is it that people who feel depressed, anxious or stressed are less inclined to be active.
