Brave Vicky to switch on Xmas lights

BRAVE mum Vicky Phelan and her family are to switch on the Christmas lights in their home city.

The mother of two who exposed the Cervicalcheck scandal said they were “honoured” to be invited as special guests to the Light Up Limerick event on November 18.

The 43-year-old, who continues to defy the odds despite her terminal cancer diagnosis, added: “It means an awful lot to me to be asked.”

Vicky, husband Jim and their children Amelia, 12, and seven-year-old Darragh will be joined on the night by Disney characters Elsa, Anna and Olaf from Frozen.
