Charity bid to lower cardiac deaths rate
Patrick O’donovan TWO people under the age of 35 die every week in Ireland from Sudden Adult Death Syndrome.
Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) is a charity offering free cardiac assessments and support to those who have lost loved ones in such a way.
Fine Gael’s Patrick O’donovan underwent an assessment at the CRY centre in Tallaght University Hospital.
He said: “We want people to be aware of the risks and to know CRY provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment for people diagnosed with, or at risk from, heart disease – particularly at a young age.
“Assessments are examined with thorough detail and care.”
