IT’S SOFA SO GOOD..

Forrest to prove he has watched and learned

- BY GAVIN BERRY

IN-FORM James Forrest has plotted RB Leipzig’s Europa League downfall – from his sofa.

The Hoops winger sat out last month’s 2-0 defeat in Germany but tuned in to pick up some tips on how to get the better of the Bundesliga men.

Forrest – who has blasted seven goals in five games since being sent off in Salzburg – reckons Celtic can turn RB over in Glasgow tomorrow night and get back in the running in Group B.

He said: “It was frustrating missing out. It was weird watching it on the telly.

“I’m not really used to being suspended. I got a red card in my second season under Neil Lennon and maybe sat out one game. Hopefully I don’t experience it again.

“You are just desperate to see them doing well. You do look closely though and pay attention to the guys in your position and who you may be up against.

“We’re looking forward to getting them back to Celtic Park. The last two results away have been disappointing but we still have the opportunity to put it right.

“We need to win our home games and maybe pick up something away to Rosenborg. We are capable of doing it.”

Meanwhile, John Hartson reckons Brendan Rodgers’ side will have to play the perfect game to beat Leipzig and challenged Odsonne Edouard to prove his worth on the big stage. The former Hoops striker (below) said: “This is a game they’ll have to take to Leipzig but I fancy Celtic to pull off a result. Brendan’s always on about how difficult it is to really make a big impact in these European games against strong opposition.

“Leipzig spent £200m over the last few years so where do you go with that? “Let’s not forget the 3-3 at home to Man City and we held Bayern Munich for long periods.

“But Leipzig aren’t Barcelona, Bayern Munich, PSG or Man City. Over there, Celtic created a few chances against them.

“This is a game Celtic can win but it has to be the perfect performance.

“Edouard needs to have a great game. They paid £9m for him and these are the games you look for your top goalscorer and record signing to come up trumps.”
