JURGEN KLOPP admitted Liverpool are fighting for their Champions League life after this shocking defeat. MARTIN O’NEILL would have considered leaving James Mcclean out of the upcoming friendly against Northern Ireland if the match was in Belfast rather than Dublin.

Mcclean’s stance on not wearing the poppy at club level has exploded into controvers­y again and last night he received the strong backing of the PFAI and Show Racism the Red Card.

O’neill insists that despite the timing on Thursday week’s Aviva Stadium fixture, he is not planning to omit Mcclean (left) from his selection plans.
