Accountancy giant hires staff across seven sites
FINANCIAL firm Grant Thornton yesterday announced plans to expand its Irish workforce by 400 staff.
The world’s sixth biggest accountancy network will hire the workers over the next two years in seven sites.
Speaking at the company’s new headquarters on City Quay, Dublin, Finance Minister Paschal Donohoe welcomed the news.
He said: “Financial services is a cornerstone of our economy and Government is committed to supporting the creation of high-calibre jobs in the sector through investment by firms such as Grant Thornton.
“This will provide skilled professionals and new graduates with valuable opportunities to work with Grant Thornton not just in Dublin, but across the firm’s locations in Ireland and as part of its global network.”
Most of the new staff will be based in the capital, while some may be hired at Grant Thornton’s offices in Company is world’s biggest accountants Belfast, Cork, Limerick, Kildare, Galway and Longford.
College graduates will account for half of the new intake but the remainder will be taken up by professionals with accounting and non-accounting backgrounds.
