1d star’s ‘big blond fringe’ makes him cringe after rewatching gig
NIALL Horan has confessed he had to switch off an old One Direction performance because he was embarrassed – saying he “looked like Jedward”.
The 25-year-old revealed how he recently watched back one of the band’s stadium shows from 2014 that had been filmed for a documentary.
The Mullingar man said while he’s happy the concert was caught on camera, he couldn’t help but cringe.
Niall added: “We released a show of us playing the San Siro in Milan – I got embarrassed after 10 minutes, I had to turn it off.
“I don’t know, just looking at myself with this big blond fringe – looked like Jedward or something.
EMBARRASSMENT
“I turned it off in embarrassment, but it was cool to say that stuff is there forever, a DVD of us playing one of the most famous stadiums – as a football fan that was the best part of the stadium tour for me.”
Speaking on the latest episode of the George Ezra And Friends podcast, the singer opened up about his days in the boyband.
The Slow Hands hitmaker also credited an Irish singer-songwriter as being a big influence on him and his solo career.
He said: “The reason I picked up the acoustic guitar was probably because of Damien Rice and the album O – it basically changed my life forever.”
