AGUERO’S UNBEATABLE AMBITIONS

- BY DAVID MCDONNELL

SERGIO AGUERO says the rest of the League will not be able to live with Manchester City this season if the champions play to their best.

City hold a two-point lead at the top of the table and are aiming for back-to-back titles for the first time. Only Man Tevez scored the goal. I remember some other goals he scored too.

“He wasn’t a big, big star in South America at the time. But when he played at Boca Juniors in Argentina, all the people looked at the good players and knew they could become big stars.

“So when he arrived in England at West Ham I think the people in South America believed Tevez could play in a big team.” Balbuena, 27, is involved in the Players’ Project, West Ham’s scheme to educate people about issues ranging from health and fitness to knife crime.

Stars of both the men’s and women’s teams are “ambassadors” for an area of community work. The club will commit £10million over the next three years to try to help deprived communities around them and attempt to inspire positive change. United and Chelsea have won the Premier League in successive seasons, with Aguero admitting City are desperate to join them.

“The Premier League is going to be more complicated this season,” said Aguero.

“Liverpool and Chelsea are our main threats, without forgetting Arsenal. We have the desire to achieve back-to-back titles.

“If we keep getting three points after three points, what the rest of the teams do is not going to matter. And if we manage to stay focused, we can keep the unbeaten record.”
