TV GIRL WHITMORE EARNED A LAURA MONEY LAST YEAR
Profits hit €775k at star’s firm
TV presenter Laura Whitmore’s media firm last year enjoyed a bumper year as accumulated profits topped €775,000.
New accounts show an increase of £56,576 from £643,588 to £700,164 (€775,369) in the 12 months to the end of March this year.
The combined value of the company’s cash pile and money owed to the firm by debtors last year increased from £700,792 to £740,444.
One of Ireland’s most successful broadcasters operating abroad, Whitmore, 33, is now reaping the dividends from her high-profile work with MTV, BBC, Channel 4 and ITV in the UK.
The firm is called Yer Wan Ltd – it was formerly Laura Whitmore Ltd. The presenter’s Twitter profile followed by over 372,000 refers to Whitmore, from Bray, Co Wicklow, as “Yer wan off the telly”.
The £56,576 increase in profits follows a £139,998 hike in the prior year and this followed profits increasing by £175,051 in fiscal 2016 and £131,879 in fiscal 2015.
The strong performance in recent years reflects the former DCU media student’s meteoric rise in the UK showbiz industry.
She began her career on MTV and moved on to hosting the I’m A Celebrity spin-off show.
Underlining the rapid growth in wealth at the star’s firm, at the end of March 2012, accumulated profits stood at £20,648 with cash of £26,982 showing her yearly results have soared since.
