MOORE: I’M EXPECTING TO SEE CARL’S BEST EVER PERFORMANCE
TRAINER Jamie Moore has predicted a career-best performance from Carl Frampton tomorrow night.
Frampton is hoping to end a two-year wait to become world champion again when he takes on IBF featherweight king Josh Warrington at Manchester Arena.
The 31-year-old was forced to rebuild his career after losing his WBA belt to Leo Santa Cruz, inset, 23 months ago.
A split from former trainer Shane Mcguigan paved the way for Frampton to link up with Moore, a partnership that has enjoyed three straight wins including impressive displays against Nonito Donaire and Luke Jackson.
And Moore is confident that winning streak will be extended in some style.
“I believe that this performance will be the best of his career to date,” Moore said. “Going off the form he has shown in the gym, people will see a massive improvement. Not just a small one.
“That’s saying something, because Carl has always been very impressive in the gym. But the way he has been sparring recently, it has been unbelievable.
“If he carries that form into the ring, I am confident he will, you will see a special performance.”
Frampton is bidding to become a four-time world champion tomorrow night.
He believes victory will be a two-fingered salute to the doubters and critics who claim his career is on the slide.
But Moore said: “From whatever area that is coming from, it is just driving Carl on and it will make him perform miles better. So they are doing me a favour.”
