Cruelty lies in the black heart of Trump’s US
WHILE Donald Trump and his cronies throw countless holiday parties, for the family of tiny Jakelin Caal Maquin there is no Christmas cheer.
The seven-year-old died from cardiac arrest caused by severe dehydration and shock a day after she and her father turned themselves into border protection officers on the Us/mexico border as they hoped for a better life in the States.
According to the Trump administration, her death was her and her dad’s fault despite admitting she was put on a bus for 90 minutes to be transferred to a larger border station for processing before getting any emergency medical care for her symptoms.
Jakelin’s loss, which is under investigation,
Jakelin underlines the Trump administration’s hard-line on immigration.
Hogan Gidley, the White House deputy press secretary, said the US government shouldered no responsibility for the little girl’s death.
“Do we take responsibility for a parent taking a child on a trek through Mexico to get to this country? No,” he snapped.
Jakelin and her dad, are just like thousands of others, simply in search of a better life.
That’s it.
They are risking their lives to escape poverty, violence or both.
The real travesty is Trump wants you to see them, including a sevenyear-old, as crime lords.
