HE’S SCOTT HIS MOJO BACK!

- BY CRAIG SWAN

SCOTT SINCLAIR has been hinting at a return to his searing best.

At Pittodrie, the Celtic ace provided staggering proof with a stunning hat-trick, a personal landmark reached and a magnificent contribution in a fabulous and frenetic success for the champions. The treble was only half the story of a quite-breathtaking encounter at Pittodrie.

But, when the dust had settled on the chaos in the Granite City, it was most-telling contribution.

Sinclair’s 50th, 51st and 52nd strikes for the club did for Aberdeen. At the same time, a special cameo from sidekick Odsonne Edouard was equally spectacular as he produced the magic to finally killoff the hosts’ astounding resistance. Twice the Dons trailed to Sinclair efforts. Twice they roared back with penalty kicks from Stevie May and Sam Cosgrove.

When the second one hit the net with just seven minutes of regulation time remaining, it looked as though it might get the Reds a superb point. But that’s when Edouard took over. The Frenchman’s magical goal and subsequent assist for Sinclair’s hat-trick strike got the Hoops over the line, even if Lewis Ferguson’s time effort made it seven goals in a phenomenal game.

It was brilliant stuff. If

Celtic needed any further evidence the pack aren’t just going to fold behind them, they got it here.

Derek Mcinnes’ men were fantastic. They kept at it, they kept fighting.

In the end, Brendan Rodgers (above) and his team did what they do when it really counts. They get it done. Rodgers, though, did confess that Kieran Tierney is set to miss Saturday’s crunch with Rangers.

The Scotland defender has been toiling with a hip injury and struggling for the top-of-the-table showdown at Ibrox. Emilio Izaguirre deputised against Aberdeen, but was replaced at half-time after conceding an opening-period penalty and Jonny Hayes took his place. Tierney, who has missed the last four matches, will be given every chance to make the big one.

But his participation looks a long shot as Rodgers said: “He is clearly a question mark.

“If not, it’s unfortunate, but we have other guys to come into the squad and that’s always an opportunity.” Hayes could the one who gets the chance and the manager added: “I’ve know Jonny since he was 15, he has played a number of positions and can play wing-back or left-back, he has that speed and power to get forward.”
