Firstly I hope your Christmas was amazing and as, we head into a new year, you can look back on some great times in 2018. Although it’s wall-to-wall party season at the moment, there really is only one big ticket this week and that’s NYE and where to go.

And it looks like our friends at PYG have that one nailed with One Night Stand – A Date With The Underground global showcase happening all across Powerscourt as they tend to do on these big occasions.

This event is in association with Game Over and their stripped back, no-frills party policy will give clubbers a NYE to remember with two of their most talked about acts of 2018. Fuse head-honcho Enzo Siragusa and man-of-the-moment East End Dubs join Game Over residents Laughing Man and Smythy alongside some of Dublin’s finest DJS – Aaron Nolan, Sexshop,

Jake Dodd, Ryan Healy and

Josh Green but that’s not all...

Chicago house originator Lil Louis, right, has been a long time booking ambition of PYG since they opened. And you guessed it he’s been added to the bill. Born in

Chicago to a legendary blues artist, Bobby Sims,

Louis is as integral to his home city’s house history as Frankie Knuckles, the

Warehouse or Ron Hardy.

Records such as Lonely People, Video Clash and French Kiss – which sold over 6million copies worldwide – have elevated Louis to a rare position, a household name among dance music fans, and considered by many as one of true Founding Fathers Of House.

In true PYG style forget the effects and fancy light shows – when you’re there, you’re in and part of the experience. The DJS, the music and the local clubbers are all part of what makes the PYG one of Dublin’s premiere so nights out. Tickets are €35 but you get almost a mini festival for that price.

Meanwhile, at Index, local legend Sunil Sharpe provides the NYE entertainment alongside Cailin Power and Lee Kelly.

A firm favourite with the Subject crew Sunil knows how to rock a techno party and doesn’t mess about – Waterford vinyl-only DJ Cailin continues to make her mark and joins the line up back to back with Aeron. Lee Kelly aka Sage, completes the line up to bring you into 2019. Tickets here are €15 and doors open at the slightly earlier time of 9pm...
