TOTTENHAM boss Mauricio Pochettino hailed the 3-0 win at Cardiff as “massive”.

Spurs bounced back from the disappointment of the 3-1 home defeat to Wolves to move to second spot in the table.

They leapfrogged Manchester City and cut Liverpool’s lead at the top to six points.

Pochettino said: “Cardiff would have been big on confidence after their win at Leicester, so this was massive for us to put ourselves in a very good position in the table.

“I’m so happy – very pleased. We started so well and were so clinical right from the beginning.” Spurs

PREMIER LEAGUE TABLE

were ahead after just three minutes when Harry Kane bundled one in to smash his Cardiff goal jinx.

The Welsh side had been the only Premier League club he had never scored against, but his spot of luck gave him the 100 per cent record of scoring against all the top-flight teams.

Pochettino said: “I think that was important for him and for us because it set us on our way and also was special for him with it being the only team he hadn’t scored against.

“I’m so pleased for the players after the Wolves result. It wasn’t a problem of us being tired, it was concentration.

“But the players showed massive energy today and that was the team I expect to see.”
