Bright & Gay for Robero

- BY GARRY OWEN

ROBERO can keep Gay Kelleway’s excellent run of form on all-weather at Southwell in the 3.10.

The seven-year-old has a decent record at this venue and bagged his second win on the trot when edging out Dark Alliance at Wolverhampton.

That game effort has earned a 6lb penalty but the gelding remains in good heart and can complete a hat-trick thanks to Toby Ely’s valuable claim.

In the opener, Constituent can enhance Michael Appleby’s phenomenal record at this venue. The gelding bolted up in a first-time visor over course and distance and remains open to progress as a stayer off just a 3lb higher mark.

Mr Strutter can land the competitive Betway Handicap for trainer Ronald Thompson. The five-year-old was better than ever when beating First Excel here last time and can follow up under 7lb claimer Oliver Stammers.

Michael Dods is flying at present and he can land a trappy sprint with Mininggold at 2.35.

The mare saves her best efforts for

Fibresand nowadays and can defy a 7lb hike for hammering Furni Factors over track and trip.

Karl Burke (above) likes a winner here and he can take the lucky last with Thunder Buddy. The four-year-old caught the eye when third on handicap bow here and can land a very weak finale.

Meanwhile, at Chelmsford, Holy Heart may not be one of John Gosden’s superstars but he can score in the 5.20.

The four-year-old improved to land a Kempton novice last month and can do damage sent handicapping.
