AFTER SEEING DUBLIN SCHOOLGIRL SING ONE OF HIS SONGS

HOLLYWOOD star Hugh Jackman told a seven-year-old girl to “never stop dreaming” after her mum posted a video of the child singing one of his hits.

The Greatest Showman actor was left impressed by Dublin schoolgirl Emma Cooney’s rendition of A Million Dreams after it was shared on Twitter.

Emma’s mother Jacqueline reached out to the screen star on social media after the young girl failed to get tickets to Jackman’s Greatest Showman concerts, which take place in Dublin in May.

In his response to the Lucan girl’s performance, Hugh said: “I just want to say to your little girl, thank you so much for singing that song.

“Thanks so much for being a fan. And never stop dreaming. Remember, life is what you choose to make it so make it fantastic.”

Speaking to RTE Entertainment, mum-of-three Jacqueline said Emma has been a big fan of Jackman’s since watching The Greatest Showman.

She added: “We saw the film for the first time in June and then Santy brought Emma the DVD and the singalong CD for Christmas and she loved it.

“Emma has watched the film four times since Christmas and she now knows all the words and is always singing the songs. We have the CD in the car all the time. I asked her would she have gone to see Hugh in concert and she said yes but, of course, by then it was too late to get tickets.

“So I said maybe if you do a video of yourself singing one of the songs and we tweet it, Hugh Jackman might see it.”

Jacqueline said Emma was delighted when she found out the Australian actor had responded.

She added: “She’s quite shy so when I showed her Hugh’s reply she was asking who are all these people looking at my video?

BUZZING

“So I said, ‘Look, it’s the Greatest Showman’ and after that she was buzzing.

“I was expecting maybe a text or something but a video and what he said was so lovely and so genuine.”

Meanwhile, Jackman tricked Ryan Tubridy into thinking he had walked out on their radio interview by performing an “Irish goodbye” live on air.

The star pulled the prank during the RTE Radio One show, while The Late Late Show host was quizzing him about his new film The Frontrunner.

After going silent for nearly 20 seconds Hugh said down the phone: “That was my Irish goodbye.”

Tubridy responded: “You’re kidding me. You completely got me. I thought your PR guys just said, ‘He’s got to go, kill it’.”

I just want to say never stop dreaming. Remember, life is what you make it so make it fantastic HUGH JACKMAN
