A BOY of 11 who was Donald Trump’s special guest at his State of Union address was so bored he fell asleep.

Joshua Trump, who is no relation to the US leader, is being hailed a hero of the anti-president resistance after nodding off in Washington.

The schoolboy was invited to Tuesday night’s speech after he was forced to drop out of classes after being bullied because of his surname.

Officials invited the youngster to the Capitol and placed him two seats from Melania Trump during the address, which started at 9pm local time.

During the President’s 82-minute speech, TV cameras swept over the crowd showing Joshua slumped back, asleep.

It sent social media into a frenzy, with one Twitter user writing: “Joshua Trump, welcome to the resistance.” Another added: “Joshua Trump is a Trump I can get behind.” And one posted: “Je suis Joshua. We are all Joshua Trump.”

First Lady Melania has made combating bullying one of her main priorities in the White House.

In his speech, her husband sought to strike a tone of unity, just weeks after the longest shutdown in US history.

He asked Americans to “choose greatness” and focused on some of his top priorities of immigration, the economy, infrastructure, pharmaceutical prices and national security.

Fact checkers later found he made more than a dozen false statements about his success in the Oval Office.

Yesterday it emerged Trump is expected to make his second visit to the UK in December for a NATO summit.

Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said in a statement “the Allies have agreed” to meet to discuss security challenges.

The President has repeatedly threatened to pull the US out of NATO.

Trump’s controversial first official trip to the UK took place in July 2018 amid a backdrop of angry protests. It cost more than €16million to police.

Singer Michael Bolton also seems to have been caught taking a cheeky nap, on live TV in Australia.

The 65-year-old claimed he was “caught tweeting” during technical difficulties on The Morning Show – but appeared to have his eyes closed.
