120,000 risk penalties on tyre safety
AROUND 120,000 drivers are unaware of penalty point regulations for tyres, a survey has revealed.
The Society Of The Irish Motor Industry found 6% of motorists are at risk of penalties and failing their NCT.
Tom Dennigan, from Continental Tyres Ireland, advised drivers to learn about wheel safety and performance.
He said: “It is heartening to see 94% of respondents are aware of the tyrerelated penalty point regime introduced nearly three years ago.
“All motorists really need to get the message: you can get penalty points if you do not look after tyres.” A FIRST Dates Ireland star who has cerebral palsy said appearing on the show gave him a huge confidence boost in his quest for love.
