Couples not falling for trip at Valentine’s

LOVE isn’t in the air as more people are opting for a getaway without their partner this Valentine’s.

A survey by Airbnb revealed solo bookings are up 200% compared to last year.

Romantic meals for two were also dealt a blow as female group getways over Valentine’s weekend have increased by 163% with male trips soaring by 159%.

In Ireland, the top spot for girlie breaks is Co Galway, while lads prefer Dingle, Co Kerry.

Dublin ranked within the top 15 trending places globally for female groups in search of a “Galentines” trip, with a 157% increase in bookings on last year.
