NEW MIRAGE APPEARS

Mitsubishi has updated its Mirage hatchback range with a new entry-level model. That’s a bit cheaper than the previous cheapest model and this car comes with a revised 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine that meets current emissions regulations.

All good news but, and this is a big but, I can’t remember seeing a Mirage on the street. With Mitsubishi, I think of the very successful plug-in hybrid Outlander PHEV and the L200 range of pick-ups.

I’d be amazed if this small hatchback sells in large numbers. We’ll get one in to test as soon as possible to see if this affordable hatch is worth a look.
