Ireland serves up 79% more barista roles
Cup of coffee IRELAND has woken up and smelt the coffee to spark a huge rise in demand for baristas, a survey has revealed.
The poll found vacancies on jobs website Indeed are up 79% in the past three years, with a 25% rise in the last 12 months.
The research is consistent with figures showing a third of consumers buy a coffee outside of the home at least once per day.
Indeed’s Chris Mcdonald said: “The rise of hipster cafe culture is a clear trend with booming recruitment for baristas to fulfil our love affair with our daily caffeine jolt.”
Ireland is also hungry for new chefs with 71% more vacancies advertised in the past three years.
