JACK REFUSES TO BE BULLIED

- MICHAEL SCULLY

JACK CONAN insists Ireland won’t be bullied at Murrayfield.

The combative 26-year-old (above) has been parachuted into the back row with Sean O’brien and neither will be taking prisoners.

Joe Schmidt’s post-match analysis that Ireland were “bullied” by England has got the reaction that the head coach wanted.

“It was probably to spark a reaction, no one likes the thought of being bullied,” said Conan who fills the No.8 shirt vacated by the injured CJ Stander.

“At times we might have been physically bested but it’s the word that’s going to stick in everyone’s head – and we’re going to make sure it doesn’t happen again.

“It could be an absolute blessing in disguise. We know that it was a bit of a shock but it will definitely stand to us.”
