Unai: We lose it on away days

- BY NEIL MCLEMAN

UNAI EMERY has admitted Arsenal have a mental problem away from home.

And the Gunners boss revealed he has urged his players to rediscover their early-season confidence at Huddersfield tomorrow.

Last Sunday’s defeat at Manchester City means the Gunners have picked up just two points from their last six games on the road.

Asked if Arsenal had to win against the Premier League’s bottom club, the Spaniard replied: “Yes”.

“But first is the mentality,” insisted Emery.

“I think we have better balance when we prepare for matches by thinking it’s going to be very difficult.

“For us, tactically, is the second issue. The first is to think we need to win and, after that, it’s how we can win the match.

“I think we need to do better away. We started very well away, changing our mentality to get more points away, but now we need to recover this confidence and to recover this performance.

“We know defensively we need to do better. We have to continue in our way with passion, but also be calm.”

Ainsley Maitland-niles is set to return to the defence after a knee injury.
