More fuel bill pain as firm in €60 spike
Eoin Clarke ANOTHER power giant announced a price hike yesterday – adding more than €60 to annual bills.
Bord Gais Energy became the sixth supplier this winter to make an increase, with gas up 2.3% and electricity rising 4.3%.
Switcher.ie boss Eoin Clarke warned more firms are likely to hike costs, with the latest being introduced on March 10.
He said: “Unfortunately, almost all Irish energy customers will be impacted by one of these winter hikes, with some supplier increases already coming into effect.”
Bord Gais Energy will add €18.72 to gas bills with electricity costs rising by €44.40.
Dual fuel customers face a €63.12 increase.
