Fake charity pair arrested

TWO men were arrested as gardai probed reports about people collecting for a fake charity.

The pair, in their 30s and 40s, were detained in Annacotty, Co Limerick.

The incident happened in the Treaty city suburb on Thursday.

The suspects were released without charge as a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Sgt Ber Leetch said: “The community in Annacotty should be commended.”
