Balding hits out at Beeb gender gap
Clare Balding CLARE Balding has blasted BBC bosses over the gender pay gap.
She said Weakest Link host Anne Robinson was paid as well as male stars at the Beeb because “they were terrified of her”.
But she told Will Young’s podcast Homo Sapiens: “I don’t want to have to behave like that to get equal treatment.”
She said discovering she was paid far less than fellow sports hosts Alan Shearer and Gary Lineker was “soul destroying”.
Clare, 48, also called for an Uber-style staff rating system to ensure “bullying” of lower-ranking staff is not rewarded.
