Fare enough as cab driver scoops €1m
National Lottery A CABBIE discovered he had won a €1million Lotto prize after he checked his numbers in the National Lottery HQ.
The lucky driver regularly tallies his tickets in the Dublin office but didn’t know what to do when he found out he struck gold.
He said: “The receptionist was checking my tickets one by one when all of a sudden, she hands me back this particular ticket and calmly whispered, congratulations, you’ve won €1million. I was absolutely stunned, I just didn’t know what to do.
“It’s unbelievable. It’s going to take a lot of time for this to properly sink in.”
A Lotto spokesman said: “This shows how important it is to check lottery tickets.”
